Founder and Managing Partner
Gary is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Matrix Partnership.
An experienced CEO, Board Member and business developer with over 30 years international business experience as an exploration geologist, oil trader and asset manager with Government, listed and privately owned entities.
CEO and senior executive positions with several Government of Dubai entities including Founding CEO of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), Founding CEO of the Dubai Sovereign Wealth Fund Dubai Natural Resources World (DNRW) and General Manager Risk Management and Senior Strategic Advisor to Group CEO, Emirates National Oil Company, (ENOC).
He was a founder of one of the first private equity funds to be established in the GCC to invest exclusively in the energy sector, and one of the first companies to be incorporated and licensed within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Member of the Board of Directors of NYSE Listed, Parker Drilling Company (PKD) and a longstanding member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
Previous senior executive roles with companies including, DUTCO Dubai, Morgan Stanley, Macquarie Bank and Neste Oy.
He is also a strategic advisor to Radio Physics Solutions and Seequestor Ltd.
He has a BSc in Petroleum Geology and an MSc in Petroleum Exploration Geology from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London University.
Francesca is Managing Partner of The Matrix Partnership. She has been a major player in the international derivatives markets for over 25 years and is a risk management and derivatives specialist and author.
Her most recent booked entitled “Mastering the Commodities Markets” was published in December 2013 and has been well received. She has also written a number of other finance books, notably, “Mastering the Derivatives Markets”, now in 4th edition, “Mastering Foreign Exchange and Currency Options”, now in 2nd edition, and the first of a completely new series, “Market Know How: Finance & Markets”. All books are published by Financial Times Prentice Hall.
Commencing her career in London with BICC, the UK cable manufacturer as a treasury and risk management analyst advising on all aspects of currency and interest rate hedging, she gained her AMCT, with the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers. Ms Taylor then moved into international banking where she was one of the founders of the market-leading Financial Engineering Group at Midland Bank, advising government agencies, major and minor global banks and corporations, and spent time in London as a futures broker on LIFFE.
Francesca has also been an OTC derivatives broker specializing in swaps and is the founder and ex CEO of Taylor Associates (International) Ltd, the London based financial training firm, where she provided derivatives, treasury and risk training to literally thousands of individuals, worldwide. Clients included, tax authorities, exchanges, regulators, information and infra structure providers, hedge funds, banks, corporations and private individuals. She is also a specialist trainer for the Association of Corporate Treasurers and has been working with the ACT Middle East to write, promote and deliver a series of Treasury courses in the Gulf area.
Francesca has worked with CME and Bloomberg in NYC and ICE in Chicago to create TV and web based tutorials in traded options and futures markets. Her qualifications include:
